Best Time to Visit Yosemite National Park

If you want to camp in Yosemite National Park, be sure to book a place at least 4-5 months before your planned trip. Because of the seasonal park closures, the park is very populated during summer months. Every year, nearly 4 million people visit Yosemite. Booking for May or September is the best way of avoiding dense populations in trails, roads and campgrounds while still getting a chance to enjoy its natural beauties at their prime time. After September, temperatures drop, roads start closing and streams lose their volume.

If you don’t mind the crowds, booking for summer does make sense, especially if you want a summer-camping experience.
